Dealers

In the early days of the auto industry dealers had to pay cash to the manufactures for new vehicle stock. This put a very heavy burden on dealers' cash flow and net working capital. GMAC solved this problem by providing a new car floor plan credit line to authorized dealers to enable them to order new vehicles from GM with payment being made by GMAC. The dealers would then pay the full value of the vehicle to GMAC once it is sold.
